Why this year looks mild
Last year was not mild. The standard premium rose $17.90 in 2026, from $185 to $202.90. That was a 9.7% jump. The projected 2027 increase is 3.3%.

The number to watch is not $209.50
Several private forecasters put the real 2027 premium between $215 and $219 a month. Their argument is a track record: the Trustees Report has come in under the actual premium in recent years.
If they are right, the increase is closer to $13–$16 a month, not $6.60. Nobody knows yet. What you can do is not build a 2027 budget on the low number.
