Who this covers

This policy covers reckonwire.com, published by Percival Monge. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, including sister sites like US Money Calendar, which have their own policies.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to see which pages get read and how people arrive. This uses cookies and collects information like your approximate location (city-level, from IP address), device and browser type, and pages visited. We do not collect names, emails, or account information through analytics.

Advertising. Reckonwire is funded by display advertising. Our ad partners, including Google AdSense, may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. We do not control what those partners collect — see "Third-party advertising" below for how to opt out.

What you send us. If you email us (contact, tips, corrections, or press), we keep that email and whatever you chose to include in it. We do not add you to a mailing list from a tip or contact email — we do not currently operate one.

Third-party advertising

We use Google AdSense to serve ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and others. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings oraboutads.info.

Cookies here fall into two buckets: analytics (GA4) and advertising (AdSense and its partners). We do not use cookies for anything beyond those two purposes. Disabling cookies in your browser will not break the site — it will only reduce ad relevance and our ability to see aggregate readership.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (which, under California law, can include the cookie-based advertising described above). Your rights — elsewhere

If you are located outside the United States, including in the EU/UK, you may have additional rights under GDPR or similar law regarding access, correction, and deletion of your data. The same contact address applies: [email protected].

Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings. Emails you send us are kept as long as relevant to the purpose you sent them for (a correction, a tip, a press inquiry) and are not sold or shared with third parties.

Children's privacy

Reckonwire is a general-audience news site not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above will change. We do not notify readers individually of updates to this page.
